Minuteman Technical Institute (and likely other technical schools) are able to offer basic car repairs (tune-ups, breaks, etc.) essentially at cost (just parts) to the community. They ask for a small donation but the labor is basically free as they use the work to teach students (supervised by faculty). Contact them to learn more.
